hard truths in loops

Iron Man and Power Girl have been in DS separately before. Here, here and here. I know I'm supposed to be a grown up, but dang I love superheroes. One of these days I'll pitch my weird post-industrial 21st century Plastic Man idea.

This is probably the smoothest Christmas I've ever had. It's eerie. Eerie is good. Aside from a few backorders, I'm getting stuff out in about 24 hours.

I'm extending the standard shipping U.S.A. deadlines until Friday because I think I can keep up! Most Priority orders should be OK. I will make sure all non-backorders from the weekend go out, but I can't guarantee the mail at that point. Express orders are pretty safe until Tuesday/Wednesday. I'll drop you a line if you have a backorder so you can decide if you want to swap stuff out.

YAY: Narrow Red Robot ties are back in stock thanks to the amazing Bethany. I seem to have enough Bacon is a Vegetable for a change. Pixel Socks and Red Robot plush are loaded until the last minute. Elitism Diagram shirts are getting tight but still in stock. Zaggy Starbucks should be back in stock late this week. Fresh Joe Biden Fan Club shirts just came in.

NAY: Electric Sheep AA mens L & Invisible Giraffe AA womens M are out until after Christmas. Other sizes are OK.

SPAY: Clearance shirts are starting to run out of some sizes.

Thank you all so much for a great year! It's nice to stay really busy.

The appropriateness of jokes about suicide notwithstanding, can you really blame Angus for not believing her?

The Seattle Mariners are turning it around, folks. Two years ago they lost 100 games with a $100 million payroll. Last season they improved to 85-77, and this offseason they're one of a few teams going out of their way to make their presence felt. They are trading, signing, and transacting more than a character from Jersey Shore. With a few more roster shakeups they could be looking at a contender. Or hey, at least we could have a different AL West team losing in the playoffs from time to time.

Their first big move was acquiring Arwin-from-The-Suite-Life-quality utilityman Chone Figgins to satiate their need for a power hitter. The next step is adding my personal favorite baseball player Cliff Lee in an attempt to have him play baseball as far away from me geographically as possible. Step three: something involving the moose. Step four: PROFIT!

These issues and more in tonight's Dugout.

I'm so glad I realize that human nature actually sometimes does apply to me these days. It makes starting new years a lot smoother.

U.S.A. non-Express order deadlines are this week! Most stuff is in stock, especially socks.

Ok, sorry to mislead- there's no winter festival that I know of... but wouldn't that be COOOOL?! January is so dead and depressing, after the holidays are done and everything is grey and gloomy out.

I don't personally have the energy to start a community festival, but I was thinking that would be SO awesome- kinda like a winter top of the park. Some of it indoors, of course. With bands, stands with hot beverages, food, crafts for kids, other awesome stuff to perk up the dullness of winter. Part of what's so depressing in the winter is that everyone is isolated from each other, there's no sounds of life, everything is grey, etc. Wouldn't a community festival, the sounds of well-loved community bands, and the colors of everyone's winter gear in the same place, liven everything up so much???

I'm just putting this out there for some enterprising person to take on :). Perhaps start small this year, and then grow it next year?
